The IDSA Medical Education Community of Practice is now accepting initial topic proposals for the development of up to 10 new chalk talks. To help streamline our process and avoid duplicate submissions, we ask all interested contributors to submit their proposed topic before creating any content.

How to submit your idea

Please use the ID Chalk Talk Interest Form to share:

  • Your name
  • Email
  • Proposed topic area
  • A brief draft or concept

Once submitted, the Teaching & Learning Resources Work Group, led by Rachel Bartash, MD, will review all proposals. You can expect to hear back within one month regarding whether your topic has been accepted to move forward.

👉 If selected, you will receive an invitation via a second form to begin developing your chalk talk.
👉 After submission of your full draft, a third form will be used for feedback, revisions and back‑and‑forth edits.

Eligible topics

We are currently accepting proposals for chalk talks on the following topics:

  • Pre‑travel counseling
  • Molecular diagnostics and next‑generation sequencing
  • Pulmonary aspergillosis
  • Management of fever of unknown origin
  • Risks associated with iatrogenic immunodeficiency
  • Latent TB treatment
  • STIs (diagnosis, treatment, prevention)
  • Diagnosis and work‑up of infective endocarditis
  • Antifungal agents
  • Isolation precautions for common pathogens

Please note: Only 10 proposals will be selected. Submitting a topic does not guarantee that it will be chosen or posted.

We look forward to reviewing your ideas and collaborating on high‑quality educational content for the medical education community.
